Paris - in Germany

hilton_121307.jpgOur favorite socialite is in Berlin to promote her new line of prosecco (yum, prosecco) - in a can (scratch that). Paris suited up to appear at a press conference where she announced that she was donating 20 percent of the profits from her Rich Prosecco line to the Rich Water Foundation, an organization that provides fresh drinking water to people in need. Gee, 20 percent of nothing is still nothing. How come I have the sneaking suspicion that months from now, people in need of drinking water will be enjoying some sparkling wine - from a can?

Christmas with the Quaids

quaid_121307.jpgDennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly share a laugh as they walk down a Santa Monica street after doing a little holiday shopping. Fortunately, they are able to laugh, now that their newborn twins, Thomas and Zoe, will be fine after a hospital mix-up that nearly took their lives. The Quaids are suing Baxter Pharmaceuticals for $50,000 after their babies were mistakenly given an overdose of the anti-coagulant heparin. The similar labeling on the vials of the drug was to blame for the accident. Here's hoping that Thomas and Zoe will be home for their first Christmas!

John's Hard Walk

reilly_121307.jpgPlease tell me that John C. Reilly is in character here! The multi-talented actor hit the red carpet at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theater last night for the premiere of his new comedy "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story." The comedy pokes fun at biopics like "Ray" and "Walk the Line" by telling the story of fictional singer Dewey Cox. The film has already been nominated for 2 Golden Globes - one for the title song and one for John's performance. This outfit? Not nominated! (I think if Elvis were still alive, he'd look at this painful-looking suit and say, "that's tacky!")

Heidi Flies Solo

montag_121307.jpgMTV personality Heidi Montag, who may or may not be split up with her 'Hills" co-star Spencer Pratt (remember kids, "The Hills" is not a reality show!) was spotted at a bank in Pacific Palisades yesterday. She needed to put more money in her Louis Vuitton wallet. MTV must pay pretty well, because she's also sporting a Dior scarf! As far as the "break-up", Spencer is playing along. He told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Tuesday that he "isn't moving on or looking for dates" and that "Heidi is the most perfect girl on the planet." Perfect with a little help from the plastic surgeon, of course!

It's A Golden Day

jolie_121307.jpgThe nominees for the 2008 Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning in LA and the drama "Atonement" scored 7 nominations, more than any other film. Hollywood managed to produce so many good dramas this year that there are 7 nominees for best drama instead of the usual 5; in addition to "Atonement", nominations went to "American Gangster", "Eastern Promises", "The Great Debaters", "No Country for Old Men", "Michael Clayton" and "There Will be Blood." In the best comedy or musical category, the nominees are "Across the Universe", "Charlie Wilson's War", "Hairspray", "Juno" and "Sweeney Todd."

The list of acting award nominees isn't too surprising, and theres a lot of familiar names, including Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie, Denzel Washington, Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks. Newcomers recognized include Nikki Blonsky for "Hairspray" and Ellen Page for "Juno." The awards, which often predict the Academy Award winners, will be handed out on January 13 at "Hollywood's largest cocktail party" at the Beverly Hills Hilton - although the mood may not be as festive this year with the writers' strike still in progress. Here's a tip, don't let Jimmy Kimmel host!

Seacrest Out

seacrest_121307.jpgThe hardest working man in media, Ryan Seacrest, was spotted leaving Italian restaurant Madeo in LA last night and jumping into a waiting limo. It's a wonder the guy even has time to eat. In addition to his AM drive radio show, hosting duties on E! and the juggernaut that is "American Idol" (the new season starts January 15 - set your TiVos!) Ryan is again co-hosting "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" (with Dick Clark, of course) and has been tapped as the "Entertainment Host" for the Super Bowl pre-show. Phew. It makes me tired just to type all of that!

Keeping Up with a Kardashian

kardashian_121307.jpgHe' s not as well known as sister Kim, but Rob Kardashian, Jr. manages to get the attention of the paparazzi as he's seen exiting celeb hangout Koi in LA with girlfriend Adrienne Bailon, one of Disney's "Cheetah Girls" (but not the one from "Dancing with the Stars.") These two are meant for each other - they are both guilty of major fashion crimes! First off, Rob shows up at a nice restaurant in shorts and sneaks. Second of all, pull those socks down! Socks left up that high are reserved for retirees on Miami Beach! And Adrienne...I have no words. I certainly hope your dear, sainted granny crocheted that dress for you - if not, there's just no excuse! Did they run out of yarn midway through? My eyes hurt.

Pete Files Solo

wentz_121307.jpgRocker Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy smiles for photographers on the red carpet at the premiere of Will Smith's new flick, "I Am Legend." Poor Pete has been having to answer to rumors that he was denied an invitation to girlfriend Ashlee Simpson's home for Christmas. Pete is smiling here - the rumors are untrue. He went so far as to e-mail MTV, saying that, "I think Joe gets a really bad rap in the press. He's always been nothing but nice to me. He even called me to let me know he expects me to show up for Xmas." That's alright for now, but if I were Pete, I'd stay on my toes; if Joe finds another single, attractive football player, your days might be numbered!

It's A Beautiful Day

lewis_121207.jpgEven though it looks like he raided Johnny Depp's closet, 50-year-old actor Daniel Day Lewis is still quite the looker. The Irish thespian was caught strolling down a New York street earlier today - he's familiar with these streets, you know...he was in "Gangs of New York." Daniel strolled the red carpet earlier this week in support of his latest picture "There Will Be Blood," directed by the good Paul Thomas Anderson (the one who gave us "Magnolia", not the one responsible for "Alien vs. Predator.") If he could just color-coordinate a little better (and maybe cut his hair just a smidgen), he'd be back to knockout status!

Stay Classy

ice_t_coco_121207.jpgWhen you want attention from the press at your event who do you call? When you want someone who never disappoints to get heads turning, who comes to mind? If you thought of anyone but rapper Ice-T and his lady love Coco, you're wrong. The always elegant Miss Coco arrived at the "I Am Legend" premiere in New York last night clad in a lovely pink spandex top, hand-painted white jeans and a white fur coat. Not to be outdone, Mr. T (or is it Mr. Ice?) donned his best Yankees jacket and entertained the press with his spot-on impersonation of Gary Coleman ("Wha'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?") I wonder if they're available for "common folk" parties? I'd love to have them at my next soiree!
