Julia Roberts brought a simple yet sophisticated look to the red carpet last night, at the Hollywood premiere of her latest film, "Charlie Wilson's War." The actress wore a little black dress (from Dolce and Gabbana) with open-toed pumps and minimal accessories (her mega-watt smile is the only accessory she really needs.) Julia went blond to take on the role of Joanne Herring, a Texas socialite - but showed up with her usual brunette locks for the premiere. The film is based on a true story, with Tom Hanks playing a Texas congressman who, with a little help from Julia's character, attempts to arm Afghani insurgents against the Soviet Union during the cold war of the 1980s. Since the film is set in the 80s, expect some big hair on Julia that we haven't seen on her since "Steel Magnolias!"

Sensitive singer-songwriter and ladies' man John Mayer leaves the Chateau Marmont in LA last night while trying to have 2 separate phone conversations. But, who's on the line? Could he have current gal pal Minka Kelly (of "Friday Night Lights" fame) on one line and former flame Cameron Diaz on the other? It's rumored that John and Cam could be trying to rekindle their relationship. The two were recently spotted together in New York City, looking like more than friends. John, don't try to balance chicks like this, it never worked for Greg Brady, and it probably won't work for you either!

Today's caffeinated cutie is none other than "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell. The 27-year-old actress was spotted leaving a Los Angeles Starbucks clutching an iced coffee. Water must be like kryptonite to this "Heroes" star (or any other the other young Tinseltown starlets.) Kristen cemented her status as a nerd's dream girl by winning the "hottest newcomer" award at the Spike Video Game Awards in Las Vegas on Friday (in addition to her role on 'Heroes," she lent her voice to the video game "Assassin's Creed.") Could Kristen Bell slide rules and pocket protectors be on the market soon?

Is it Sarah Jessica Parker or Carrie Bradshaw? The celebrity clotheshorse (and fashion icon, according to "Project Runway," at least) was spotted
not shopping on trendy Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles yesterday. SJP, impeccably dressed in black with a pattered scarf and quilted bag, was infinitely more concerned with texting than anything else as she strolled down the street, rocking some divine Christian Louboutin pumps.
Sarah's on a break from the NYC set of her upcoming "Sex and the City" movie - which was announced today is the first chapter in a triolgy (SATC Chapter 2: Jimmy Choo Strikes Back and Chapter 3: Revenge of the Manolo are coming soon to a gigaplex near you!)

Gorgeous Irish-born Jonathan Rhys Meyers is gearing up for the second season of his Showtime series, "The Tudors," in which the slim actor plays notoriously large British monarch Henry VIII. He was spotted last night in London, hand-in-hand with former girlfriend, British cosmetics heir Reena Hammer leaving Indian restaurant Benares. The pair, who have been in an on-again/off-again relationship are rumored to be off for good, although this picture doesn't seem to indicate that. Rhys did, however, move out of Reena's North London home.
In the "really bad idea" department, Rhys may be moving in with his new buddy, troubled rocker Pete Doherty. The two, who have been house hunting in East London, feel that living together will help them deal with their recent troubles (aside from the break-up with Reena, Jonathan recently lost his mother and has been seen drunk in public. Pete is well-known for his battle with drugs.) I think therapy would be much better than Doherty for Jonathan!

"Ugly Betty" star Vanessa Williams shows off her bag to photographers as she and a friend meet up for lunch in Beverly Hills yesterday. That giant cowhide and leather bag looks big enough for a weekend stay, not a lunch date! What's she got in there? If she were acting like her "Betty" character, that bag would have a change of clothes in it, because Wilhelmina would
never wear the same outfit coming in and out of a restaurant! We're liking Vanessa's casual cream-colored sweater and gray-hued pants, topped off with celebrity-sized sunglasses though - no need to change a thing!

"Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo shows why she looks so healthy and fit on the show. The recent newlywed (she married music Producer Chris Ivery in a quiet ceremony last month) perused the produce at an LA-area Whole Foods Market, where she picked up some apples and other nutritious munchies. Ironically enough, Ellen and Chris met at a Whole Foods in 2003 (I always wondered if grocery store hook-ups were fact or fiction. I guess I know now!) The 38-year-old actress also looks dressed for the gym in an Adidas track suit with her hair tied up in a casual ponytail.
Gee...workout and eat right...some of the medical advice she hears on the "Grey's" set must have crossed over into her home life!

Here's actress Jodie Foster heading to the set of "Freaky Friday," circa 1976. No, actually this picture was snapped just yesterday, as the Academy Award-winning actress was doing some Christmas shopping with a friend. It's hard to believe, isn't it? The 45-year-old looks as fresh-faced as she did when she starred in all those 1970s Walt Disney comedies. Jodie has gone full-circle, her next project (which she stars in and directs) is the family film "Nim's Island." Guess those years of Disney training are paying off!
Jodie picked up a gift at eclectic Los Angeles boutique Zipper. If I were Jodie's friend, all I'd want for Christmas are her beauty secrets!

Can you believe it's been 12 years since "Showgirls"? Gina Gershon, seen here at last night's world premiere of "P.S. I Love You" in Hollywood, looks just as stunning as she did when she unleashed Cristal Connors onto the world. The 45-year-old actress, who co-stars with Hilary Swank, Lisa Kudrow and Gerard Butler in "P.S.," is quite the multi-tasker. Her second album, "In Search of Cleo" was released a few months ago and the rocking actress played an eight night gig at a New York club in October to promote the release. She wrote 5 of the songs on the album and even provided illustrations for the cover art. She also had a recurring role on the FX hit series "Rescue Me." Is there nothing she can't do?

Superstar Tom Cruise smiles for the cameras in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood earlier today. The handsome actor was on hand to support his friend, actor/musician Will Smith, as he was immortalized in cement in a hand and footprint ceremony to celebrate the release of his upcoming sci-fi thriller "I Am Legend." Tom, who had previously received the honor, had nothing but praise for the actor. He told Entertainment Tonight that, "I feel honored to know him and his family. When I get around him I feel
inspired. We push each other and we need that. We share that same level of
reality and commitment that we have to our craft and to our family."
Tom added that Will's music helped get him through the shooting of the war drama "Born on the Fourth of July." Do you think he danced to it in his tighty-whities?
