World Record Tattoos

"LA Ink"-er Kat Von D (of the TLC reality show) attempted to break a Guinness record by tattooing the most people in a 24-hour time period. Eager tattoo aficionados waited for hours outside of Kat's High Voltage shop to get inked with a Guinness-approved black and red "LA" tat. The tattoo was a bargain at $20, and all profits are going to the charity Vitamin Angels, which "provides supplements to developing countries and communities that are in dire nutritional need." Kat did break the record, doing 400 of the tattoos during the event, which was filmed for her reality series. I don't think I'd like to be done in hour 23, I shudder to think of what an "LA" would look like by then!

This is incorrect information - while Miss von D did hold this event, the real tattoo record belongs to her ex-husband, Oliver Peck, who held a similar event a few years ago. Not only did she 'borrow' the idea from him, she also changed the rules to suit her circumstances by counting several small tattoos on the same person, where Oliver Peck enforced a strict one person-one tattoo rule. Not to mention the fact that the entire thing was organized by the producers of her reality show. While donations to charity are an honorable action, it is important to give credit where credit is due, and in this case the real accolades belong to someone else...
