John to the Rescue

Newly-single (again) John Mayer, seen here last night as he left LA's Katsuya restaurant, has come to ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson's defense, after the singer's relationship with Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is being blamed for his team being defeated by the New York Giants in last week's NFC playoff game. John took to his blog, and in a post entitled "Don't Ex with Texas" spoke of Jessica's extreme pride in her home state and said, "It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So, please don't try and take that away from her." Think he can stick up for her performance in "Major Movie Star?" Never! He's not that good!
