Isla Fisher is still hard at work on her new chick-flick "Confessions of a Shopaholic," which is filming on location in New York City. I read the book on some beach somewhere, and I don't remember Isla's character wearing such an ugly, ruffled monstrosity like the one she has on here. That trench coat isn't covering it nearly enough, if you ask me. And lime green gloves? I've been known to be a bit of a shopaholic myself, but I've never, ever found myself in need of green gloves!
In the "Trouble in paradise?" department, Isla told England's Daily Express that she has vowed never to work with her fiance, "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen. She says that she doesn't want to put any "further strain" on their relationship. She asked, "How successful are married working relationships? I feel like working together is the kiss of death." The pair has already experienced problems stemming from the lawsuits generated from Sacha's hit 2006 flick. Says Isla, "Our relationship went through a very strange patch. Instead of 'Hey honey, did you pick up the dry cleaning?' it was, 'Did you get beaten up? Are you getting sued? Is there a warrant for your arrest?”' Aaah, if they can survive frivolous lawsuits, they can survive anything.

Courteney Cox arrived at LAX yesterday, looking model-thin in jeans, a black knit top, purple scarf and huge sunglasses. For those of you who missed your "Friend," don't fret, the second season of her controversial new FX series 'Dirt" debuts on Sunday night. On the show, which Courteney executive produces - along with her husband David Arquette - the the 43-year-old star plays a tough-as-nails tabloid editor. With so much celebrity scandal going on in Hollywood, the writers of the show aren't short on material. This season promises storylines ripped from the tabloid headlines. Don't fear, celebs, more than the names will be changed. Courtney says that "We usually do a hybrid of celebrities, and then add to the story like
maybe what happened to cause this to happen to them or sum it up in a
different way just for fun."
So, has playing a tabloid editor softened Courtney's view of the entertainment media? Not really - in a recent interview she said, "I would say that playing this character and working on this show has
definitely shown me how hard (this business) is and how competitive it
is. It's just really hard to run a successful magazine. And I
(understand) just how many paparazzi there are out there and how hard
it is to get the exclusive picture. I guess I've learned (how the
paparazzi operates), but that doesn't mean I agree with it all and I
definitely don't agree with the obsession on certain celebrities." She has noticed that the paparazzi have been nicer to her since season one, noting, "I think they like the show, so there's a little more camaraderie." As long as Courteney dishes the "Dirt," she's going to be able to have to take a little herself.

Valerie Bertinelli is all smiles - and she has every right to be, after dropping 40 pounds and looking fit and fab at 47-years-old. The former "One Day at a Time" star signed copies of her new autobiography
"Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time" at Barnes
& Noble in New York City yesterday. In the tell-all, the actress-turned Jenny Craig spokeswoman opens up about her three-month-long romance with director Steven Spielberg back in 1979 and her rocky, 20-year marriage
to guitar legend Eddie Van Halen.
The woman who was once "Touched by an Angel" writes in her book about kissing another woman, drug use and even cheating on her rock star hubby. So, basically Valerie did everything that every other actress in Hollywood has done. She does look great though, I'll have to admit. Why'd she do so much better than Kirstie with the Jenny Craig? It could be that Scientology and pre-packaged diet meals don't make a good combo. Just a thought.

Claire Danes, sporting a 1930s-inspired hairdo and make-up, was spotted taking a little break at the commissary during filming of her latest project, the drama "Me and Orson Welles" on the Isle of Man, near Great Britain. The film, which also stars teenybopper idol Zac Efron tells the fictional tale, set in the late 30s, of a high schooler who lands a job with the esteemed director of "Citizen Kane." The 28-year-old actress, who is dating her "Stardust" co-star Hugh Dancy, is the envy of many a teenager right now - not only is her beau a dreamboat, but she's getting paid to work with the adorable Zac. Too bad Hugh's stuck in the Big Apple, filming "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Claire's practically in his backyard right now. I guess that's the price you have to pay to be a star.

Phoebe, who has a role in the upcoming indie film "In My Sleep" - as "X-Girlfriend," was spotted outside of LA eatery The Ivy in a purple ensemble that can only be described as eye catching, while clutching a small Yorkie pup. Phobe is rumored to have her own reality special in production - for German television - and is in the process of creating her own clothing line. Thank God! Everyday I look in my closet and ask myself, "Why, oh why doesn't Phoebe Price design her own fashion line?" Country crooner Taylor Swift bundled up as she left MTV's Times Square studios yesterday after an appearance on "TRL." The 18-year-old singer, who was nominated this year for a Best New Artist
Grammy, credits MySpace with helping her achieve her big break. Taylor's self-titled debut album spent 15 weeks in the number one position on Billboard magazine's country charts and has sold a whopping 2.5 million copies. Wait - a country singer on MTV? Is this one of the first signs of the apocalypse? Well, at least it's nice to know someone with some genuine talent was able to make it big via MySpace!
