Lovely actress Christina Ricci waved to photographers after her appearance on MTV's "TRL" in New York yesterday. The actress, known for her eccentric characters and unconventional film roles, was in town promoting her new movie "Penelope", which co-stars and was produced by Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon. In the modern-day fairy tale, Christina plays a young woman who was cursed by being born with a pig's snout instead of a nose. The woman must find true love in order to break the curse and finds herself attracted to one of her suitors, a musician played by "Atonement" star James McAvoy. I've heard of "chick flicks", would this be classified as a "pig pic?"

Here's another "blast from the past" for you nostalgia buffs out there - Steve Urkel himself, Jaleel White, was spotted hanging around outside LA's Villa Lounge last night. The actor, who had a "blink and you missed it" part in the hit musical "Dreamgirls," is currently working on a modern-day adaptation of the Jack London novel "Call of the Wild." The independently-produced, low-budget family flick also stars Christopher Lloyd of "Back to the Future" fame and another sitcom veteran, "Three's Company" star Joyce DeWitt. Jaleel wasn't the only star out for a little "Hump Night" celebration at the uber-trendy nightclub, screen legend Dustin Hoffman, a Paris-less Brittny Gastineau and newly-single Rick Salomon were also spotted. Rick was with an unidentified woman at the club - guess his period of mourning his failed marriage to Pamela Anderson is officially over!

Mariah Carey, looking every inch the diva she is, invaded MTV's New York City studios yesterday for an appearance on "TRL." Mariah was in the Big Apple to promote her latest single "Touch My Body" off of her upcoming album "E=MC2," which hits stores on April 15. The 37-year-old singer was dressed in jeans, a red lacy top and a black jacket as she made her way into the studio on sky-high red platform shoes. I'm not a big Mariah fan, but I love the video for this song, which features Jack "Kenneth the Page" McBrayer from "30 Rock" playing Guitar Hero and Laser Tag with Mimi! Her performance in the 4-minute clip was way better than anything in "Glitter," that's for sure!

Ok, I'll admit it, I love Donny Osmond. I'm so glad his sister Marie went on "Dancing with the Stars" and rejuvenated his career. I think he's actually doing better post-"Dancing" than Marie is! Sure, she's sold some dolls, but Donny has gigs on just about every entertainment news show around - well, ok, just "The Insider" and "ET," but that's still pretty impressive for the 50-year-old singer, whose last hit was 1989's "Soldier of Love." Donny hits the big screen on March 7 in the Martin Lawrence comedy "College Road Trip" and did a little promotion for the Disney film on ABC's morning  show "Good Morning America" yesterday. "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum manages to look like she's walking the runway in designer duds when she's actually walking down a Culver City, California sidewalk carrying her 3-year-old daughter, Helene "Leni" Klum (Formula One racing mogul Flavio Briatore is her father, not Heidi's hubby, Seal.) The supermodel looked - well - super, sporting a bohemian look, complete with an over-sized knit cap and floor-length coat.

With Leni and her two sons with Seal, Henry and Jonah, there's no room in the Seal-Klum household for another mouth to feed, which may be why Heidi regrets telling a German talk show that Britney Spears could move in with her. She claims she was put on the spot by the reporter and says, "People always wanna know what you have to say about Britney Spears and I don't really know her; I met her once. People always want to squeeze something out of me. All of a sudden I'm her landlord, basically. I don't even know her; I don't know what her thing is." Well Heidi, you're not alone, no one really knows what Britney's "thing" is!

"High School Musical" star Zac Efron is graduating from East High soon in the third - and final - installment of the popular Disney franchise and is graduating to more mature roles. The teen heartthrob is currently working on the drama "Orson Welles and Me" on the tiny Isle of Man, which is located between England and Ireland. The film tells the fictional tale of a 17-year-old high school student who is taken under the wing of the legendary actor/director Orson Welles. Zac was spotted at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas hard at work on the project, which co-stars Claire Danes and is due in theaters in 2009.

Zac has caused a bit of a stir on the island, attracting quite a few fans to the film's shooting locations - police were even called in to investigate a gaggle of fans hanging around a commercial building on Saturday, hoping to catch a glimpse of the adorable, 20-year-old star. Hopefully, all of the attention kept Zac's mind off of girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, who he had to leave at home!

"Hannah Montana" herself Miley Cyrus again shows evidence that she's not planning on going the way of Lindsay and Britney. The singer/actress and her achy-breaky dad, Billy Ray found and cared for a stray dog in their Los Angeles neighborhood on Wednesday. This dog's story ended happily, with the father-daughter reuniting the pet with its grateful owner.

If you can't get enough Miley, you can check out her latest project, "The Miley and Mandy Show" on YouTube. During the 5 minute show, Miley and her friend Mandy Jiroux, a dancer on the "Best of Both Worlds" tour, engage in such typical 15-year-old activities as laughing, dancing (to Janet Jackson's new single "Feedback"), gymnastics, reading magazines and generally mugging for the camera. It is refreshing to see a teen superstar taking part in such wholesome activities, let's just hope her future videos are this clean - just stay away from newly-single Rick Salomon, Miley!
