Katherine Heigl braved the rain in a stunning red gown (not crazy about the hair though) as she made her way to yesterday's Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood. The "Knocked-Up" actress presented the award for best make-up - which went to "La Vie En Rose" - during last night's ceremony. The glammed-up Katherine you see under the umbrella is a far cry from what she looked like earlier in the day; she was spotted dressed in her best Sunday casual duds delivering
some foil wrapped food to her mother's house. That Kat sure cleans up nice, huh?

"Just Friends" star Amy Smart and her
fiance, actor Branden Williams braved a frosty February day to go shopping in New York's SoHo neighborhood. The actress is keeping herself quite busy - not only is she about to begin production on "Crank 2" with Jason Statham, she'll be displaying her dancing talents in the upcoming drama "Love N' Dancing." Amy, who studied ballet dancing for ten years, swaps her toe shoes for swing gear, playing an English teacher who falls for a former swing dancing champion and joins him in competition - and perhaps love? Speaking of love, I wonder when Branden is going to make Amy Mrs. Williams? They've been together for over thirteen years!

The terminals at LAX were once again packed with stars, as the nominees for this year's Academy Awards arrived on Saturday for the big night. Laura Linney, best actress nominee for "The Savages" was all smiles as she greeted photographers. One of Laura's competitors for the big prize was a bit more camera shy. Marion Cotillard, nominated for her stunning portrayal of French chanteuse Edith Piaf in "La Vie En Rose," tried to avoid the flashbulbs as she and her boyfriend Guillaume Camet made their way through the terminal. Guillaume, an extremely popular actor in France, was more than happy to sign a few autographs. "Michael Clayton" star Tom Wilkinson, a nominee for best supporting actor, didn't care about the cameras one bit - he just wanted a smoke!

Paula Abdul, whose latest video, "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" debuted on last night's "American Idol," was one of the stars in attendance at W magazine's Hollywood Affair
Oscar Party at the Sunset Towers in LA. Paula, who was escorted by her beau, restaurateur JT Torregiani joined Alicia Witt, Jamie Lynn Sigler and Matthew Perry for cocktails and hors
d'oeuveres at the celeb-packed party, with music was provided by Paul Sevigny (Chloe's brother).
Rolling Stone reports that Paula's single is just the beginning of the "A.I." judge's musical comeback. She’s in the studio working on her first new album in 12 years and told the magazine that she's "looking forward to putting a single out by the end of May, beginning of June” and added that a tour "isn’t out the question." I hope she can get MC Scat Kat out of retirement for that!

Flame-haired actress Tilda Swinton wore a colorful ensemble as she and a friend waited for a limousine outside of their Beverly Hills hotel on Friday. The 47-year-old actress is up for her first-ever Academy Award for her supporting role in "Michael Clayton" - a part for which she has already received a BAFTA award from her native England. Tilda seems ambivalent about the prestige associated with Hollywood's biggest honor, telling
BBC News
"I think ["Michael Clayton" is] a rocking film and I'm so happy to be associated with it.
But I have a sense all these awards mean more to other people than to
me and I feel guilty. Maybe I need to go on a course to be told how great it is." UPDATE: she won! I wonder if this changes her opinions at all!

Former Wham! frontman
George Michael was seen heading to a north London recording studio for the second time this week, further fueling rumors that the singer is working on a new album - his sixth - and the first album of new material since 2004's "Patience." George kept warm under a casual jacket as he made his way into the building. As he entered
the recording studio, the still-sexy singer was asked about the status of his upcoming autobiography,
to which he replied, "There's plenty of time for that." Guess you George Michael fans (myself included) are going to have to have a little "Patience" as well!

Who's the bleached blond actor who looks like he was on the wrong end of a beating? It's "Sin City" star Mickey Rourke, on the set of his latest film, "The Wrestler" in Jersey City, New Jersey. In the film, Mickey, who trained as a boxer and had a short career as a professional fighter in the 90s, plays wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson, an over-the-hill athlete who quits the business after having a heart attack and moves in with a woman, played by Oscar winner Marisa Tomei. Unfortunately, Ram can't resist the allure of the ring and makes one last bid for glory. At first glance, I thought Mickey was playing the lead in "The Dog: The Bounty Hunter Story." Mickey, take Lindsay Lohan's lead, blond doesn't look good on you!

Lovely actress and singer
Minnie Driver managed to smile as she fought the chill in New York's West
Village yesterday. The star, returning to the small screen next month in the eagerly-awaited second season of the drama "The Riches," kept herself warm in the cold weather bundled under a cozy
scarf, hat, and black and white striped gloves. It's rumored that the 38-year-old Minnie has climbed aboard the celebrity baby train. She was recently spotted shopping for baby togs at Crewcuts, the J.Crew store for children, in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. She was rifling through the racks of clothes for a little girl - is a "mini-Minnie" on the way?

Enjoying Milan's Fashion Week, actress/singer/celebrity impersonator Lindsay Lohan, wearing a colorful, silky outfit was spotted being escorted by a burly bodyguard to her waiting car as she was leaving Dolce & Gabbana's Gold restaurant on Milan's Via Poerio. The Mediterranean restaurant is behind the designers' Metropol show space, and sports a first-floor gourmet restaurant as well as a ground-floor casual bistro where smoking is allowed. Fashion and nicotine? No wonder Linds checked it out!
