Swiftly Rising Up the Charts

Country crooner Taylor Swift bundled up as she left MTV's Times Square studios yesterday after an appearance on "TRL." The 18-year-old singer, who was nominated this year for a Best New Artist Grammy, credits MySpace with helping her achieve her big break. Taylor's self-titled debut album spent 15 weeks in the number one position on Billboard magazine's country charts and has sold a whopping 2.5 million copies. Wait - a country singer on MTV? Is this one of the first signs of the apocalypse? Well, at least it's nice to know someone with some genuine talent was able to make it big via MySpace!
