I can't believe that Angela Bassett is just now getting a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame. Have the powers that be that award these things
not seen 'What's Love Got to Do with It?'
The radiant Ms. Bassett, accompanied by her hubby, actor Courtney B. Vance and her kids Slater (not named after the 'Saved by the Bell' character, if you were wondering) and Bronwyn, received the 2,358th star on the Hollywold landmark in a star-studded ceremony yesterday.
Angela was lauded for her work by fellow actors Forest Whitaker, Rick Fox and the Ike to her Tina, Laurence Fishburne, who praised the actress' 'desire and determination.'
The 49-year-old actress was moved by the honor and said the day was 'so special' to her. And she so deserves it.
I'm still reeling from the fact that Paula Abdul and Judge Judy got stars on the Walk of Fame before Angela did. That's just wrong.
