Jonathan Rhys Meyers: King for a Day in NYC

Why does it always look like it's 4:20 in Jonathan Rhys Myers' world? The dreamy Irish actor reigned on the red carpet for last night's screening of the second season opener for his Showtime series 'The Tudors' at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers.

In the steamy bodice-ripping series, Jonathan plays a young, handsome and svelte King Henry VIII - who had a little problem making marriages work, going through 6 wives. He was like the male Liz Taylor of his day, but instead of divorce, he favored decapitation.

Jonathan was accompanied by long-time girlfriend Reena Hammer. Unlike his regal character, Jonathan doesn't have any plans to make Reena his queen anytime soon.

He's smart. Divorce is tough to fight in the courts. Decapitation is even harder.

Joining Jonathan at last night's event were his 'Tudors' co-stars Natalie Dormer, Henry Cavill, James Frain and David Alpay as well as comedienne Tracey Ullman and British actress Billie Piper, star of Showtime's import 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' - and no, Elliot Spitzer is not involved in this production - coming in June.
