R&B singer Mariah Carey, looking slightly more demure than she has in the past,
was the center of attention on the red carpet at the premiere of her
new movie 'Tennessee' at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on
Saturday night.
I was really hoping I'd never have to see 'Mariah Carey' and 'her new movie' together in the same sentence ever again.
Mariah is the biggest name in 'Tennessee', the movie that Janet Jackson claimed she was plumping up for, remember that? She plays a waitress/aspiring singer named Krystal who joins two men on a journey to find their estranged father and save their younger brother from leukemia.
The singer credits producer Lee Daniels for allowing her star to once again shine on the big screen. She said, 'It was cool for [him] to take a chance on me because obviously, you know, not everybody was going to do that.'
I simply can't believe that Hollywood has learned nothing from 'Glitter.'
