Robert Downey Jr. continues his international
promotional tour for his latest movie, the comic book action flick
'Iron Man' with a stop at the London studios of BBC
Radio One for an interview.
After his well-publicized bouts with substance abuse, the 43-year-old actor has called the globe-hopping tour for the action flick his 'victory tour', telling the New York Times, 'I’m all for chanting your own name, I’m all for that kind of pride, go with that a little bit, but that’s just a firing pin to give you that energy to get through all the stuff.'
Although at first glance, Downey may seem to be an unusual choice to play a superhero, director Jon Favreau thinks no other actor would have filled the iron suit better than he did.
Jon told Time magazine, 'Tony Stark goes through a bit of a moral reawakening in this movie. You can't have a moral reawakening if you're in high school. You have to have done things in your life to be able to look back and say that I've made mistakes or maybe I should re-evaluate the way I approach things.'
'Iron Man' opens on May 2, and I can't wait.
