Banished 'American Idol' contestant Michael Johns
returned to Australia prior to kicking off the 'AI' tour in July and
posed for photos with his wife,
Stacey, at the Finger Wharf in Wooloomooloo, Sydney.
The hunky singer has no regrets about appearing on the singing competition, telling the Aussie press, 'Being 29, I know exactly what I sound like and what I want to do afterward; so I kind of used it as a platform to showcase what [album] I was going to make afterward.'
After the tour, Michael will get down to business and put out the (obligatory) solo album. He's already been working with songwriter Diane Warren on new tunes for the album, which he promises will deliver a 'bluesy rock vibe' with influences by Otis Redding, the Rolling Stones and INXS - naturally.
I hope Michael turns out to be this season's Chris Daughtry and puts out a hit record that delivers a big 'I told you so' to Simon and the gang at 'AI.'
