Russell Crowe: More to Love

An...umm...slightly fuller-figured Russell Crowe is back in his native Australia and stepped out for a coffee at Charlie's Cafe at the Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo (those crazy Aussie names!).

The 'Gladiator' star headed back to the land down under to cheer on the Australian National Rugby League team he co-owns, the South Sydney Rabbitohs (not a typo). Russell must have been a lucky charm: The team won its first game of the season and are now 1-7.

Russell didn't stop at enthusiastically cheering his team to to victory.

'He came into the dressing room and shook everyone's hands,' said team member David Kidwell. 'He's as passionate as any player, and it was great to see him.'

The athletic supporter returns to the big screen in October, re-teaming with 'Gladiator' director Ridley Scott in the drama 'Body of Lies.'

'Body of Lies'? Looks more like 'Body of Fries'!

I have to admit that the unflattering pulled back pony tail does him no favors, but he's not all that heavy and seems to have been steadily losing the weight Ridley Scott asked him to put on for Body of Lies in which he plays a 50+ year old out of shape CIA boss. Next up for Crowe ... the swashbuckling period epic Nottingham, for which he'll no doubt have to trim down and muscle up again.

Man, I wish someone would pay me big bucks to eat too much and go fallow for a few months. Which I've done anyway, but without the pay check reward.
