Uma Thurman's Legal Week in Review

Sporting red-hued locks and carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, an unusually chatty Uma Thurman stops to pose for photographers on the way to her waiting car on the set of her latest film, the comedy 'Motherhood' in New York City.

In the comedy, which co-stars Minnie Driver and Anthony Edwards, Uma plays a mother (duh) planning an elaborate birthday party for her daughter and 'has no idea of the challenges she’s about to face in order to pull off the event.' What does that mean? Maniacal clowns? A leaky bounce house?  Temperamental petting zoo animals?

Uma has had a busy legal week. On Tuesday, Jack Jordan was convicted of stalking and harassing the actress and yesterday cosmetic giant Lancome filed papers against the actress, who is asking for $1 million after it was discovered her image was being used to promote the product Canadian billboards and Asian web sites after her contract with the company expired.

The case could result in a huge payday for Uma, as her original contract has her earning $5.8 million for the first two years and $3.1 million for each additional year.

Uma's lawyer said, 'I'm delighted that the case will go before a jury. They got an enormous benefit throughout the world after the contract was over, and $1 million doesn't begin to do it.'

Maybe that's why she's so chatty and friendly.
