The always-subtle Jack Black continues his international red carpet
mugging tour and premieres his latest flick 'Kung Fu Panda' at Sydney's State Theater yesterday.
Hundreds of fans stood in the rain to get a glimpse of the actor who spent a half-hour greeting them and posing for photos before making his way down the red carpet for even more wacky posing, with his panda alter-ego Po.
While speaking with reporters, Jack was delighted at the first week's US box-office figures for the animated film - taking in over $60 million this past weekend - especially because he knocked Sarah Jessica Parker and the gals out of the top spot.
Said Jack, 'The Sex and the City' girls have had a real phenomenal weekend. No one can take that away from them. But now it's our time - move over ladies, you've had your time in the sun, now it's time for the panda to play.'
Jack might want to take it easy with all of these high-energy red carpet shenanigans, his next role is in the action-comedy 'Tropic Thunder,' so he's most likely going to be hopping all over the red carpet again in a few months.
