R. Kelly better be sending plenty of flowers to his defense attorney
and the jury of his child pornography trial. The long-awaited verdict
has finally been announced, with the 41 year-old R&B star found
innocent of the charges that he engaged in sex with a 13-year-old girl
on video tape.
He was facing up to 15 years in prison for fourteen counts, all of which were found not guilty after the jury deliberated for two days.
The 26 minute tape was watched in court, and both R. Kelly and the alleged minor, now 23 years old, deny that they are the people who appear in the film.
Here's hoping that people will finally stop buying his albums and supporting this guy even though he won't be headed to jail. Feels like we've got another Wacko Jacko case on our hands, complete with the wide cracks of our justice system.
