Peaches Geldof, spoiled daughter of British Live Aid founder Bob Geldof, eloped with an American musician named Max Drummey
in Las Vegas last week, waited a few days to see how it felt, and then decided to call it a real wedding and spread the happy news yesterday.
The couple's statement, which seemed to anticipate the forthcoming 'WTF' attitudes of everyone and everyone's mother, explained how the couple met and made a point of stating that 'their marriage has the full support of their family and friends.'
Supposedly Peaches has known Max for two years, but they only started dating a month ago...somewhere around the time Peaches was dying and then coming back to life from drug overdose. Yes, this is despite the fact that the girl's mom died of heroin overdose in 2000. Yeah, she's a bright one, them Peaches.
Obviously, the bad news is that 19-year-old Peaches Geldof is hell on wheels and possibly not quite2% 100% ready to be married. The good news is Maxwell Drummey is not a dummie, so the relationship might
be good for her (as much it is likely to destroy him). The 23-year-old
is less immature, went to Harvard, has actually held a job, and his band - Chesterfield French - is, in all fairness, pretty stellar.
And there should be plenty of time for Maxwell's musically-connected wife to get him famous before they divorce in a few months.
