Cate Blanchet Is Tall, Cheap

Cate Blanchett made Giorgio Armani look like a midget at the Armani Spring/Summer '09 show in Milan Tuesday. 

The 5'8 1/2" actress is on extended vacation in Europe, and Milan is just one of the extravagant stops on her agenda. 

But as easy as it is for the top-earning actress to drop dimes on plane tickets, hotels, and handbags costing a small fortune, Cate is a total penny-pincher on other matters. 

Matters such as parking tickets.  The Sydney Daily Telegraph reports on Cate's refusal to pay her debt:

• 'Some hospital bureaucrats are still reeling from a letter of complaint sent by Blanchett to the Mater Hospital following the April birth of Ignatius, her third son with husband Andrew Upton.

• Blanchett's beef was over a hefty parking fee for Upton's car which was left in the hospital parking station over a length of time while she gave birth.
• 
  
• The sum involved was reportedly less than $30 and after the complaint was taken on board and rapidly passed down the line, the couple received a refund.'
  

Hmmmm...$30 measly bucks?  Small fries considering Cate's birth had to have cost her at least a few thousand. 

I suppose it was 'the principle' that got Cate's blood boiling.  I mean, rushing into labor?  Pretty legitimate excuse. 

But again... $30 measly bucks?
