Dolly Parton to Blame for Jessica Simpson Singing Country

If your ears are still ringing from hearing Jessica Simpson's new country single, then Dolly Parton is just the woman to receive all your hate mail.

Turns out that after Jess's pop career tanked, the Texan gal was ready to give up on music altogether.  But then Dolly came along and ruined it, convincing Jessica not only to keep singing, but to further perverse airwaves with her new southern twang. Jessica tells E! Online:

• 'You know, what happened at Kennedy Center, I really thought I was done singin'. I was just at a place where I’d lost a lot of confidence and I didn’t even know who I was. But Dolly totally took me under her wing and helped me up and over the cares of the world.'

'Helped me up and over the cares of the world'?  Well shit, even if Jessica's country singing sucks, at least she's got the evangelical jibber jabber necessary to win the ears of at least a few Bible-thumpers.

In other Jessica news, look! She actually spends time with her sister sometimes.  Last night the buxom blonde took pregnant sis Ashlee and hairdresser Ken Paves out to dinner at Beso in Hollywood.  And given her gassy reputation, let's just hope the lactose intolerant gal skipped dessert to avoid singing out her ass too...
