Hayden Panettiere's daddy Alan Panettiere has been formally charged with misdemeanor battery for slapping Hayden's mom around after a charity event back in August. If convicted during October's arraignment, daddy Panettiere could face up to a year in county jail and his family realizing they are better off without him.
Meanwhile, Hayden is still in denial. After telling the media that her dad's arrest was the result of a police officer 'looking for his fifteen minutes of fame,' she asserted that her 'family is wonderful -- so very happy. We're all great.'
As part of her ongoing denial, the little Hero and her her family celebrated her brother Jansen's 14th birthday with a big happy dinner at Buca Di Beppo in L.A. last night.
Everything was going fine until Alan had an accident on his shirt and, oops, there went his temper too.
