Mickey Rourke Is Sorry He Has a Potty Mouth

If ever there was a time to definitely absolutely not come across as a homophobe, I'm pretty sure the week after gay marriage gets banned in California would be it.   

Hence why Mickey Rourke is begging forgiveness for tossing around gay slurs Sunday night when he got pissy about the Evan Rachel Wood romance rumor. 

'She's a good friend, that's it,' Mickey told paparazzi while walking into L.A.'s Hyde nightclub. 'Tell that faggot who wrote all that shit in the paper I'd like to break his fucking legs.'

It's worth noting that Hyde is just a few blocks from the city's largest homosexual community, where No-on-Prop-8 advocates have been protesting for the past week.  

So it's not surprising that within a day, Mickey had released this statement:

• 'I want to sincerely apologize for the derogatory word I used.  It was insensitive and inappropriate of me and I am deeply sorry that I may have offended anyone.'

This is the second time Mickey has dropped the f word, following a 2006 incident where he used it to describe a drunken fan he almost got into a fight with. 

'Look, I'm not afraid to say the word fag,' he said back then during an interview with New York's Time Out magazine, throwing in the 'I have gay friends' card. 

'I've got plenty of gay friends. We toss the word around,' he exaggerated.  

Good luck tossing in hot water, genius!
