Here's Zac Efron arriving at the Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA on Friday, where he handed out toys to critically ill patients and their families.  And, according to what a source told Us Magazine, actually enjoyed himself. 

'Zac was super gracious and could not have been more kind and truly happy to be there.  He really spent time bonding with each of the children and their families.  The kids were smitten and beaming from ear to ear.  Some of the kids couldn't even speak, but they had the widest grins and would sit as close to him as possible.'

It's kinda refreshing to hear about another celeb doing doing stuff for other people - especially at such a young age.  Plus, while Zac was earning brownie points with Vanessa Santa, he was making Disney proud too. 

Among the $10,000 worth of toys given away were a big pile of High School Musical products too.  Because why not throw in a little self-promotion while being charitable?!

This morning while Paris Hilton was out partying her breakup woes away at Bar Deluxe, her Hollywood mansion was being ransacked by someone who knows all too well her late-night habits. 

$2 million in jewelry and belongings were stolen from the socialite's bedroom by a hooded man who broke in through the front door. 

So I guess the media princess doesn't have an over-the-top alarm system or bodyguards monitoring protecting her palace 24/7?

To make matters more delightful, Benji Madden might be dating Paris' former BFF Britney Spears.  A source tells In Touch Magazine:

'They've been on a few dates. They met once at The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for dinner in a hotel suite. She appears to like Benji a lot, and he seems to really like her . . . Larry made some phone calls and Benji ended up being the most interested in being fixed up. He plans to make a big, splashy announcement to help publicize her upcoming tour.'

Good thing Paris has a real BFF like Brittany Flickinger to lean on during these tough times!

Rather than throwing herself an extravagant party or jumping out of a cake, Katie Holmes celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday in the most awesome way ever: going to work. 



But after the actress and daughter Suri Cruise trodded into the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater for another All My Sons performance, Tom Cruise threw in a special twist.  Forced to send his birthday wishes across the country, Tom arranged for the entire Broadway cast to fill in for him.

'I set up whole thing,' he told Us Weekly at the L.A. premiere of Valkyrie on Wednesday. 'The cast came out with a huge cake. The audience sang "Happy Birthday" to her. It was really nice. You know, I plan it out. I think ahead.' 

Tom finished up his 'me, me, me' interview by discussing how TomKat plans to spend the Christmas holiday - and borrowing slang from his new buddy Spencer Pratt.  'We're just gonna chill,' he said.
