Katy Perry and Travis McCoy Break Up

A week after they were spotted lolling on the beach together, Katy Perry and Travis McCoy have called it quits, according to friends of the musical pair. 

'It's a hardship, but she's regrouping,' one source told Celebuzz, while another dished to Us Magazine:

'It's sad, but they were fighting a lot because they never saw each other and now she is going on tour.  She just needed a clear head. It's been non-stop work for her.'

Katy's tour does start on January 23, but the career excuse is about as old as Mariah Carey's wardrobe.  Chances are there were other factors in the couple's split. 

Last week Travis posted some melodramatic rap lyrics on his blog this week about a couple 'fightin' and 'itchin' to jet', and Katy recently shared her skepticism on relationships. 

While laughing off wedding rumors in December, the pop star said, 'you have to just enjoy each other because people change, you know.' 

True 'dat!
