Leighton Meester Is Electric on the Set of 'Gossip Girl'

Leighton Meester lit up the gray skies of New York yesterday when she was spotted filming Gossip Girl in Central Park. 

Clad in a bright (and I mean BRIGHT) red pea coat, the jail-born actress sipped coffee and chilled with her co-stars John Shea, Blake Lively and, most importantly, a bull dog who plays her daddy's pup. 

In other news...Leighton is bringing off-screen electricity to new airwaves: radio!  Yes that's right: Leighton's making the flop between acting and 'singing' like the rest of young Hollywood.  But in her case, the music's not totally average.  She told Us Magazine last month: 

'The music is very fun.  It's edgy, like electro-pop rather than bubblegum, and you can dance to it.' 

Hmm...I do like to dance...
