Mischa Barton whipped out her shrewd style today when she strolled Milan for a little shopping spree.

Nothing like a stopover in the Fashion Capital of the World to one-up the competition!

This week the British-born actress told reporters that Victoria Beckham is the last person she'd ask for wardrobe tips.

• 'Posh doesn't strike me as particularly stylish.  I don't think she's a good example of British style at all. I don't dress for anybody else, and I think the reason people like my style is that I do my own thing.'

Yikes.  Bold move Mischa.  Say what you will about Posh's wardrobe, but I'm pretty sure being the target of her wrath ain't a good thing. 

Let's not forget that homegirl has pried female paws off of her husband in THREE countries since marrying Mr Beckham a decade ago.  And if there's one thing Vicki holds even more dear than David, it's fashion.

Mischa Barton's puppy Charles stole a little Mischa lovin' from her rocker boyfriend Taylor Locke yesterday when the lucky mutt bonded with his owner at an L.A. park. 

The OC alum has been given flak for not doing enough promo of her movie You and I at the Cannes film festival last month.  But that's just because she realized the movie turned out to suck.  Would you want to stand behind a movie that the producers totally jacked up??

Instead, the British-born beauty has dug her heels into a vagabond's eye for fashion.  Next months Mischa debuts her own line of vintage handbags, a style inspired during her travels around the world.  And she even got all artistic about it - she hand drew a flower on every bag!

Apparently fashion isn't the only thing travel inspired in this diva - it's made her all charitable.  This month she donated a closet full of designer dresses to an ethical trade Visa Swap sale, which takes place in London this month.  She's also a global warming spokesperson, an ambassador for various save-Africa campaigns and an educator on cancer research.  Who knew?

Mischa Barton, whose career has cooled since her days on "The O.C." got a little unwanted attention as she was arrested early this morning in West Hollywood and was booked on suspicion of DUI, possession of illegal narcotics and driving with an invalid license. Hollyscoop reported that the actress was spotted by police driving erratically in her white Range Rover. She was released this morning on $10,000 bail. Tsk, tsk. We had such high hopes for you, Mischa. If all of Hollywood's bad girls jumped off a cliff, would you join them? There are far better ways to get press!
